The University was founded in 1926 by the Madras University. It’s a public university located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This University was designed by Shri Kowta Rammohan Sastri under the guidance of Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy. This University has four constituents Colleges. The College of Arts and Commerce has 28 Departments offering 55 Courses, the College of Science and Technology has 19 Departments which offer 44 Courses. The College of Engineering has 16 Departments under UG and PG Programmes. And the last one is the College of Laws. This University also has a School of Distance Education which was started in 1972. This university also contains two campuses, one is South Campus and the other is North Campus. The South Campus is for Arts, Humanities, Science and North Campus is for the Engineering College.
